In this module, we have spent time thinking about and planning lessons. Now it’s time to share your plans.
Please be sure to use the lesson plan template Download lesson plan templateto share your plan. If you can download and edit the lesson plan template as a Word document
Download lesson plan template as a Word document, you may prefer that format. Just remember that not all class participants will be able to download and read Word files. (If you are able to post it as a pdf, that would be perfect!) In this discussion forum, please post your answers (in text or the template) to the following questions and make sure to also attach your lesson plan to your post:
- Who are your students (how many, age, language level, and purposes for studying English)?
- What aspect of critical thinking does this lesson work on?
- What aspect of intercultural awareness and culture does this lesson work on?
- What are the lesson objectives? List them. At least one objective must specifically target critical thinking.
- How does this lesson address what you learned about your students in your inquiry from Weeks 4 and 5?
- In this lesson, what do you anticipate students will be challenged by?
- What will you do to address these challenges? Note the specific activities that will address these challenges.
- How will you assess your students? Note specific stages and specific activities that you will use for assessment.
Finally, describe the full lesson. For each phase, note the time (how long), what the students will be doing, the kind of language students will be using/practicing, what you as the teacher will focus on, and questions you can ask the students to deepen their learning.
The last part of this assignment is to comment on the plans of at least three classmates. You have until the first part of Week 7 to do this. For each comment apply at least one technique for helping other people reflect on their professional practice.
NOTE: If you want to upload a file, look for the "attach" icon at the bottom left-hand corner of the text editor (where you write your response).
